About T-Shirt

Approximately. Roughly. In the vicinity of.

ABOUT is the word for people who are not going to commit to a number. It softens a claim, hedges a time, and gives a whole sentence room to be wrong. It is also the word for what a thing is really about, which is a completely different job and a far more serious one.

Why “About”? One word does both approximation and subject matter — “about five minutes” and “what it's all about.” Vague or profound, depending entirely on who is reading it.
